Enhancmenton channel scheduling in switched optical networks

Abstract

Interconnection network has nodes and switching elements. It has links, switches and network interfaces .The nodes communicate in a fixed and adhoc manner. The packets need to be analyzed for understanding the nature of traffic in the network. It is important to understand that the network architecture that can result in burst due to improper design. Solution to this can be developed considering challenges like congestion, channel newlinemanagement, link management, routing. In the first work of this research, a new congestion management technique suitable for Input queue switch architecture(having queues at input port) with enhanced Regional Explicit Congestion Notification (RECN: an efficient Head-of-Line block elimination) is proposed. Regarding the performance it leads to a significant reduction of the data memory area required at each port in the reduction factor of 5 times. Architecture avoids the use of explicit congestion notifications and token-exchanging packets. Technique with a cost effective Switching architecture to face the challenges of congestion management has been recently proposed for Advanced Switching (AS). newline newline
