The study on synthetic methodologies for the characterization and applications of atrane compounds

Abstract

The first chapter provides the background behind the research work and the motivation behind pursuing the work in this thesis. The chapter focuses on a class of molecules named Atranes, a category of silicon compounds known as Organosilanes and their hypervalent counterparts called Silatranes. The second chapter involves the first synthesis of pyrene functionalized Silatranes. The third chapter involves synthesis of organo-functionalized triethoxysilanes (OTES) and Carbon Acids appended Triazole allied Silatranes using knoevenagel condensation route and copper (I) catalyzed click silylation reaction. In the fourth chapter, synthesis and characterization of Pyrene-Silatrane conjugate has been done. The fifth chapter is about the preparation and structural characterization of triazole tethered Silatranes.
