Abstract: Present study surveyed the frequency of cellular as well as humoral components during experimental cerebral malaria in PbA infected, mice treated with artesunate combination therapy and mice immunized with blood stage fraction along with TLR7. We showed the variations in the frequency of CD3, CD4, CD8, T regs and CD19 B cell population in brain during different time points of P. berghei ANKA infection and artesunate combination drug treatment. The recruitment of these cells was the principal factor behind the pathogenesis of the cerebral malaria. While, mice post treatment showed no recruitment of immune cells into brain and protected from cerebral malaria. Mice post treatment and post immunization exhibited no sign of injury with lower expression of CD3 in brain. This study outlined the complete efficacy of blood stage fraction along with TLR7 formulation against cerebral syndrome. They were lower post immunization preventing inflammation in brain. Th1 mediated pathology was also regulated post immunization and contributing in protection against the challenge.
