Abstract: | quotBackground: newlineAs the new market requirement have becoming more persistence, the introduction of advanced techniques of Artificial Intelligence proven more affordable and reliable to provide breakthroughs in challenges of science, engineering and technology. newlineFrom last two decades, the Artificial intelligence techniques which include Fuzzy logic, Artificial Neural Network, Expert system, Genetic algorithm etc. developed for the field of application in science, computing, agriculture, medicines, engineering, industries and many more. newlineAim: newlineThe present work focuses on the knowledge-based expert system, AI technique(combination of Rules, Knowledge, image processing) to develop an automated die and punch tools design for the sheet metal forming operationsalong with fatigue analysis. newlineAmongst the different manufacturing techniques such as welding, casting, machining and forming, the forming techniques have the highest shares in global manufacturing industries because of its versatile applications in automobile, aerospace, household equipment etc. sheet metal forming is a submodule of the forming process, includes a thin sheet of metal which is subjected to permanent deformation with the externally applied force using a punch-die set. newline newlineObjectives: newline newline1. To study the sheet metal forming process and knowledge extraction (on site and off site) for an intelligent model system newline2. To develop intelligent die design expert system model for SMC die (Rules, Knowledge and Image processing concept) newline3. To validate the intelligent system model of SMC die by Industrial testing (conducting experiments) newline4. To carry out a simulation analysis to analyze the designed SMC die newline5. To carry out fatigue life analysis for the designed and analyzed SMC die using developed ES newline newlineMaterial and methods: newline newlineA researcher has developed a GUI based expert system called SMC Die Design ES that generatesan automatic design of SMC die with fatigue analysis. Basic input data is in the form of a 2D image. VB, Python, OpenCV Library and Abacus areused to desi |
