Abstract: | In MU-MIMO systems, the Multi User Interference (MUI) is the one which significantly limit the system performance. The pre-processing of signal called precoding, at the transmitter end is one of the effective strategies in interference reduction or elimination. Nevertheless, designing an apposite precoding algorithm ensuing dexterous performance with nominal computational complexity is considerably a challenging process in real time scenario. In this thesis, the linear precoder design is entirely focused to optimize the system performance. The two practical difficulties such as computational complexity of linear precoder, and inaccurate Channel State Information at Transmitter (CSIT) are considered at this juncture for the precoder design. The Block Diagonalization (BD) is a renowned linear precoding approach for MU-MIMO systems. The BD based algorithm primarily transform the transmit side channel into independent multiple parallel SU-MIMO channel. These transformations incur two complex Singular Value Decompositions (SVD) whose complexity depends upon the channel matrix dimensions.
