Abstract: | The work aims at studying the effect of textile structure on waterabsorbency and drying rate of fabrics and its impact on concrete compressivestrength.In civil construction sand, cement and gravels are used to prepareconcrete mixer. When water is added to this mixer, cement reacts with water(chemical reaction) to form a gel like substance and hardens the structure. Theharden structure is called concrete.Curing is the process, which maintains the proper internal moisture levelinside the concrete. The strength of concrete primarily depends on the curingreaction and time of curing. The absence of curing results in slowing down ofhydration process and results in strength loss. Also the non-uniform moisturedistribution in the concrete causes the differential drying shrinkage. Due to thistensile stress occurs in the concrete and results in crack formation. newlineTraditionally jute woven fabrics are used for the curing process of verticalstructure and slop structure of concrete. The jute woven fabric retains the waterand transfers it to concrete for hydration process to take place. newline newline |
