There was a common perception that geniuses are one with high Intelligent Quotient (I.Q.) and it will make them succeed in life and career. When a longitudinal study was taken with high I.Q. children, it was found that, only very few students achieved big in their career. This confirms that high I.Q. alone do not guarantee for success but there are other factors like their emotional factors. The reason for lack of success is because, these individuals had low Emotional Quotient (E.Q.). This made many researchers to learn about the importance of emotional intelligence. newline
