Abstract: | Induction motors are widely applied in several industrialapplications and estimated that over 80% of electric motors belong toinduction type. Thus improvement of induction motor efficiency leads toincreased energy saving and this aspect has been well discussed in theliterature. One such method to enhance the motor efficiency is to suitablydesign the motor and fabricate it for efficiency enhancement, it is alsopossible to analyze the performance and give optimal solutions such thatexisting motors can be re-designed to improve the motor performance.There are several research works introduced for efficient design ofinduction machine with higher operating efficiency as seen in the literature.The Hybrid Genetic Algorithm and Particle Swarm Optimization Model newline(HGAPSO) was designed for evaluating commercial off-line parameters ofinduction motor. Here, torque and power factor were estimated for providing newlinesteady-state equivalent circuit. But, efficiency was not improved significantly. newlineIn order to achieve higher efficiency for induction motors, various firefly newlineoptimization techniques were designed. But, they do not attain feasible newlinesolution of efficiency. These methods however, fail to improve efficiency. newline newline |
