Abstract: Heat Exchanger in espresso machine is used for various commercial purposes in food processing industries. High performance in the heat transfer system is of great importance in many industrial applications. The performance of heat exchanger can be improved by various performance techniques. In this present study, the performance technique is first monitored in heat transfer concept which can be increased by active and passive flow control techniques utilized in computational fluid dynamics in simulation analysis. This research work is carried out in different positions of heat exchanger using simulation as a part of an experimental method, in which the enhancement of heat is introduced including circular, triangular, trapezoidal and square grooves in the horizontal positions of the heat exchanger. Heat transfer, flow friction and thermal enhancement factor features in a double pipe heat exchanger fitted with plain and variant twisted tapes using water as working fluid are investigated experimentally along with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Tests are performed for both laminar and turbulent flow Reynolds number ranges. The experimental data for a plain tube and plain-twisted tapes are validated using the standard correlations available in the literature. To obtain the latent heat in the process, copper material is used for making the hot water for the extraction process. In most of the espresso coffee machines, the main focus is on the heat friction factor in order to increase the efficiency of the machine validated using the standard correlations available in the literature survey. newline
