Abstract: In chemical industry, almost ninety percent of all chemical processes are catalytic chemical processes. Of these catalytic chemical processes, nearly eighty percent, seventeen percent and three percent chemical processes are catalyzed by solid heterogeneous, homogeneous and bio catalysts respectively. Consequently, solid heterogeneous catalysts dominate the industrial catalytic chemical processes. newlineBy considering the importance of solid heterogeneous catalysts in chemical processes, we decided to use different solid acid catalysts to bring about chemical transformations. newlineIn Chapter II, I survey the reported methods for the synthesis of tetrasubstituted imidazoles, used different heterogeneous solid acid catalysts and found silica supported HClO4 as an efficient catalyst for synthesis of tetrasubstituted imidazole. newlineIn Chapter III, I survey the reported methods for the synthesis of 1,4-dihydropyridines, used different heterogeneous solid acid catalysts and found SmCl3 as an excellent solid acid catalyst for synthesis of 1,4-dihydropyridines. newlineIn Chapter IV, I survey the reported methods for the synthesis of 1,4-benzoxazines, used different heterogeneous solid acid catalysts and found tris(pentafluorophenyl)boron as an efficient Lewis solid acid catalyst in acetonitrile for synthesis of 1,4-benzoxazines. newlineIn Chapter V, I survey the reported methods for the synthesis of pyrrolo[1,2-d]benzodiazepine, used different heterogeneous solid acid catalysts and found phosphomolybdic acid as highly active solid acid catalyst for synthesis of pyrrolo[1,2-d]benzodiazepine. newlineIn Chapter VI, I survey the reported methods for the synthesis of dihydropyrano[3,2-b]chromenediones, used different heterogeneous solid acid catalysts and found tris(pentafluorophenyl)boron as highly active Lewis solid acid catalyst for synthesis of dihydropyrano[3,2-b]chromenediones. newlineIn conclusion, silica supported HClO4, SmCl3, tris(pentafluorophenyl)boron and phosphomolybdic acid emerged as excellent catalysts for the development of newer synthetic protocol.
