Abstract: | In a distributed system, the privileges to access data should be granted to that user who bears the required set of attributes or credentials. The responsibility of putting into effect of such strategies is bestowed upon a server that is relied upon to store data and intervene in the decision of granting access to the data. In certain circumstances, if at any time, the server compromises on the security of the stored data, then there arises an awkward situation where security is compromised on the privacy of the data. As a result of the possibility of the above mentioned occurrence, Ciphertext Policy Attribute Based Encryption is presented to comprehend security through complex access on encrypted data. Encrypted data can be kept confidential by implementing Cipher text Policy Attribute Based Encryption techniques under critical conditions when a storage server becomes not reliable. Moreover since these techniques are much safer and secure against collusion attacks, they become a much better choice over earlier systems that were based on Attribute Encryption techniques that used a set of attributes in order to keep data secure which was achieved by implementing required policies into userand#8223;s keys. Cipher text Policy Attribute Based Encryption employs system attributes in order to describe credentials of a user to gain access. This is theoretically similar to the traditional access control methods such as Role Based Access Control (RBAC) but with improved performance. newline |
