Abstract: | Chemistry of heterocycles has been widely studied because of their wide range newlineof applications as pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and veterinary products. They are newlinehaving a wide range of application such as sanitizers, antioxidants, anti-malarial, and newlineanti-diabetics. newlineThis thesis mainly focus on synthesis and biological activity studies of new newlineheterocycles having five, six and seven-membered rings and containing heteroatoms newlinenitrogen (N), oxygen (O), or sulfur (S). The best known of the five-membered ring newlineheterocyclic compounds are pyrazoline contains a ring of five atoms, three are carbon newlineatoms and two nitrogen atoms, isoxazoline contains a ring of five atoms, three carbon newlineatoms, one nitrogen and one oxygen atoms. The six-member heterocyclic compounds newlineare pyridine contains a ring of six atoms-five carbon atoms and one nitrogen atom, newlinepyrimidine contains a ring of six atoms-four carbon atoms and two nitrogen atom and newlineseven member heterocyclic compounds are benzodiazipine contains a ring of seven newlineatoms-five carbon atoms and two nitrogen atom and benzothiazipines contains a ring newlineof seven atoms-five carbon atoms, one nitrogen and one sulfur atom. newlineThe heterocyclic compounds such as pyrazol, isoxazol, pyridine, pyrimidine, newlinebenzodizipine and benzothiazipines are synthesized from and#945;, and#946;-unsaturated ketones newlineexhibited a vide range of activities such as antimicrobial, anticancer, anti-tubercular, newlineanti-diabetics, anticonvulsant, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. newlineHowever, the halogen substituted heterocycles of these categories is not newlinereported and studied much. Hence, due to miscellaneous applications of such different newlineheterocyclic compounds and their derivatives encouraged us to work in the area of newlineheterocyclic chemistry. Consequently, the present work describes the synthesis and newlinebiological activity studies such as different derivatives of chalcones, pyrazolines, newlineisoxazolines, pyridines, pyrimidines, benzodizipines and benzothiazipines. The newlineextension of this work has scope for novel improved synthetic modes for a wide newlinevariety of |
