Recent advances in wireless technologies have resulted in much newlinebetter way of communication and cheaper wireless handheld devices This in newlineturn resulted in a large number of wireless devices participating in the ad hoc newlinenetworks in a smaller area making the network denser Some natural civil newlineapplications rescue operations and sensor networks may involve hundreds of newlinenodes in a smaller area These applications may take advantages of adaptive newlineself organization of large scale ad hoc networks Scalability is a crucial newlineproperty under such environments Very large scale dense MANETs face a newlinenumber of difficulties as compared with MANETs operating on small scales newlineTo detect routes and adjust to dynamic network conditions is not an easy task newlineThere has been a substantial amount of research in wireless ad hoc networks newlineincluding many proposals for routing protocols to improve the network newlineperformance On demand ad hoc routing protocols which broadcast control newlinepackets to establish route to destination nodes generate a high number of newlinebroadcast packets thereby causing contention packet collision and battery newlinepower wastage in the mobile nodes For this reason performance in highly newlinepopulated ad hoc network requires further newline newlineen_US
