Abstract: | Nowadays, wide ranges of business applications have been introducing in the Internet and digital communication is taking place between the business entities. Lots of personal information as well as business credentials are travelling over the networks related to these business applications. The insecure communication channels attracts more adversaries through which enormous data breaches are occurring and that leads to huge economic losses. Cryptographic systems are one of the remedies to overcome these problems. Compared to Private key cryptosystem, Public key cryptosystems are more efficient in key management and supporting digital signatures for authentication. The security of the public key cryptosystem hinges on the hardness in solving mathematical problems such as integer factorization, discrete logarithms, and elliptic curve discrete logarithms. They are more suitable for multiuser applications. Public key cryptosystems possess many technical challenges. Since the enciphering and deciphering are bounded with modular operation, handling large amount of data is quite difficult. It faces various attacks such as chosen plaintext attack, chosen cipher text attack, known plaintext attack and known cipher text attack. The public key cryptosystem is expected to be semantically secure and non-malleable to any random adversaries. For any public key cryptosystem, it is preferable to have time bounded security. newline |
