Abstract: | In modern business environment, manufacturing industries face global resource-finding problems. In order to proceed in such environment the manufacturing industries are indispensable to be dedicated for superior quality, higher productivity, efficient usage of the available resources like man, material, machine and tougher price competition. The competitiveness of the manufacturing industries and the consumers expectations to get wide range of products with superior quality is on rise. The mass production techniques are not suitable for meeting orders small in size, large in variety and short target time to meet present-day market needs due to short product life cycle. Manufacturing is always a important entity for the development of newlinepeople. The understanding of the human beings pave way for civilization and thus the manufacturing developed naturally with the industrial growth. To face the current and future industrial challenges, precise manufacturing methods are very much needed. Customized products, shorter product life-cycles and unpredictable demand were enforced production industries to operate more efficiently and effectively in order to suit the current environments. Traditional manufacturing systems, such as job shops and flow shops will not be able to handle such environments. newline newline newline |
