Abstract: | This work deals with simulation and implementation of AC-AC converter for wind newlinegeneration. The AC output of the wind generator is converted into DC using three phase newlineuncontrolled rectifier. The output of the rectifier is filtered using Z-impedance network. The newlineoutput of the z-network is applied to the three phase inverter which feeds an induction motor newlineload. Wind generator system modal was developed in Simulink. The simulation was carried newlineusing MATLAB and the simulation results were obtained. The hardware was tested and the newlineexperimental results were obtained. The experimental results were compared with the newlinesimulation results. newlineThis work also proposes Quasi Z source inverter (QZSI) for AC-AC conversion in newlinewind generation system. This work presents modeling and simulation of QZ-source based AC newlineto AC converter system. The DC source is obtained by using wind generator and rectifier. newlineThe output of QZS network is applied to three phase inverter which feeds an induction motor newlineload. The simulation studies were performed using MATLAB and results were presented. newlineThe hardware was fabricated and tested. The experimental results were compared with the newlinesimulation results. newlineFurther work was carried out on Switched Inductance QZ Source inverter (SI-QZSI) newlinefor AC-AC conversion involving wind generation system. Modeling and simulation of SIQZSI newlinebased AC to AC converter system was also been extensively done. newlineIn this thesis, the possibility of using SI-QZI source inverter with different control newlinetechnique like Single pulse, Sine PWM, and Trapezoidal PWM for AC to AC conversion is newlinealso explored in the wind generation system. The proposed system has advantage like newlinereduced hardware and increased voltage gain less harmonic. SI-QZSI was introduced newlinebetween the rectifier and the inverter of AC to AC converter system. This system was newlinedesigned, modeled, simulated and implemented in the laboratory and the experimental results newlinewere obtained. newlineA comparison was made in different PWM techniques such as Single pulse, Sine newlinePWM and Trapezoidal PWM. |
