Abstract: | Introduction: Work engagement is stated as a psychological work related mind set which is positive in nature and it is influenced by factors such as resource provided in the organization to perform work named as job resource, under a job demanding conditions where the job resource acts as a motivator which enhance work engagement in the organization. Though the concept of work engagement among employees plays a very crucial role for the organization outcomes the sustainability of the engaged workers is very important to attain the organizational goal. This study examines some of the factors which have an influence on work engagement of the employees in IT Industry. Further it examine the turnover intention of the employees through their work behavior which is proactive if the employees are engaged in their work thus their turnover intention will be less inside their organization. newlinePurpose: Purpose of this research is to assess the work engagement of the employees with different age group categorized as generation and evaluate their effects on turnover intention. The purpose of this study is to understand the factors influencing work engagement how this factors in the current scenario plays a role for making employees engaged in their work. Where, the influencing factor such as job resource acts as an antecedent for work engagement, facing job demanding conditions and motivation arise from job resource acts as an intervening variable influence work engagement. This study will be useful for understanding the importance of other factors required for engaging employees in their work in a more vigor, dedicative and absorptive. And analyzing the population of engaged employees and their proactiveness which determines the turnover intention of employees leaving the organization among different generation group of population. newlineResearch Methodology: The research is basically about the factors influencing work engagement and its effect on turnover intention in selected IT companies (Tier 3) in Chennai, India. The hypotheses were tested using the data collected from the sample of IT employees from Tier 3 companies in India. The study has adopted descriptive newlineresearch design and purposive judgmental sampling method was used to attain the required sample for the research. The total number of 816 questionnaires was distributed personally and through mail, out of which only 526 responses were retrieved. newlineFindings: The study provides evidence that there is a relationship exist between the factors influencing work engagement and effects of work engagement on turnover intention with different generation. As findings, a casual model is provided to assess the importance of factors influencing work engagement and measuring the effect of turnover intention with different generation. newlineImplication of the study: This study presents implications for the companies to concentrate on other factors which has a influencing effects on work engagement and offer a suggestions for Human resource department to frame strategies for the organization to make employees more engaged in the organization by considering the importance of other factors required for the work to be engaged by employees. Hence the turnover intention of the engaged employees can be reduced which contributes for the organization benefit. newline |
