Abstract: | Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a class of wireless network and the mobile nodes move arbitrarily everywhere devoid of any programmed infrastructure. Mobile nodes in MANET can communicate with one another directly or through intermediate nodes. In MANET, routing is the process of choosing paths in a network for sending information from source node to destination node. Based on the information of geographic position, basic routing is performed in geographic routing. It is position-based routing where the source node transmits information to the destination node in MANET. The information located in MANET is transmitted with the help of routing protocol. This routing protocol establishes a sufficient path to destination according to the hop count. Thus, it enhances network lifetime of wireless link. The proposed research work focuses on improving the performance of newlinegeographic routing and network lifetime. Recently, many research works have been designed for geographic routing in MANET with topology control and resource optimization. An existing Adaptive Position Update (APU) strategy has been introduced to provide geographic routing. The position updates are changed frequently for routing protocol with the application of dynamics of node mobility in the network. As a result, routing path is established among source and destination nodes to transmit beacon information. But, it is difficult to transmit data packet between the nodes effectively that leads to reduced network lifetime. newline newline newline |
