Abstract: | The aim of the study was to determine the Socio-Psychological characteristics newlineof Physical Education students and other professional students. 300, physical newlineeducation and 300 other professional students were selected for data analysis of the newlinestudy. The data was collected through respondents in the form of different newlinedescriptive tests. The demographic information about, age, sex, daily smoking etc. newlinewas obtained before seeking responses. For assessment of Academic Stress, the newlineStudent-life Stress Inventory (SSI) (Gadzella, 1991) was used. The inventory newlinereflected students life stress experiences. It consisted of 51 items describing five newlinecategories of stressors (Frustrations, Conflicts, Pressures, Changes and Self-imposed) newlineand four categories of reactions to stressors (Physiological, Emotional, Behavioral, newlineand Cognitive appraisal). Responses to the 51 items were made on a 5-point Likert newlinescale from 1=never, 2=seldom, 3=occasionally, 4=often, and 5=most of the times. newlineTo measure academic self-efficacy, Yuen and his colleaguesand#8223; (2007) Academic newlineDevelopment Self-efficacy scale were used. The collected data was analyzed as a newlinewhole .The data was checked for accuracy and completeness and was coded and put newlineup into the SPSS Descriptive statistics for all studied variables, The percentage newlinemean, standard deviation and t-ratio, was considered statistically technique newlinethroughout the study and the level of significant was set-up at 0.05 level.The result newlinerevealed that, 80.33% Physical Education students engaged in daily physical newlineexercise/sporting activity, whereas 34.33% Professional students engaged in daily newlinephysical exercise. 72.00% Physical Education and 84.66%Professional students used newlineinternet. 6.66% Physical Education students reported that they have smoked, while newline15.33% Professional students reported that they have smoked. Result reveals that newline54.02% Physical Education students reported mild stress, 35.09% Physical Education newlinestudents reported moderate stress and 14.75% Physical Education students reported newlinesevere stress.
