Abstract: | newline ABSTRACT newlineA search is performed for the production of a heavy charged Higgs boson in association with a top quark, decaying to a top bottom pair at center of mass energy (and#8730;s) 13 TeV. Events with single lepton (electron or muon) are used for the present search. Categorization is done on the basis of jet multiplicity and number of jets containing b-hadron decay. Signal and background events are discriminated using HT distributions. The data collected with the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) detector at Large Hadron Collider (LHC) corresponds to the full datasets collected in 2016 with an integrated luminosity of 36 fb-1. The final state contains exactly one lepton (electron/muon), jets and missing transverse energy. We present results for a charged Higgs boson with mass heavier than the top quark mass. No significant excess from the predictions of the Standard Model is observed. Therefore we set 95% (Confidence Level) CL upper limits on the charged Higgs boson production cross-section times branching fraction. newlineKeywords : LHC, CMS, Higgs, luminosity, cross-section newline |
