Energy saving is one of the key issues not only from the point of view of reducing fuel consumption but also protecting the global environment Hence significant efforts are being taken in conserving energy Waste heat recovery process is one such effort that can be employed to achieve energy conservation The main objective of this investigation is to study and analyse the feasibility of retrofitting a waste heat recovery system in air conditioning systems for hot water generation An attempt has been made to recover the heat rejected by an 11 TR air conditioning system used at the computer centre in the college The recovered waste heat can be used for heating water that can be used by 200 250 students in the hostel for bathing The demand and supply of hot water and its storage requirements have been estimated Based on the estimation the waste heat recovery system is fabricated and detailed experiments are carried out over the year newlineen_US
