Abstract: | Now a days the industries face the challenges in meeting out the cooling demand due to the existing coolants have reached their limitations. The nanofluids are the dispersion of the nano materials into basefluids which have been developed to solve the problems associated with the existing coolants in thermal systems. It is studied from the literature review that the nanofluids are the novel and alternate heat transfer medium with improved thermal conductivity even at low particle concentrations than the conventional heat transfer fluids. Most of the researchers concentrate on nanofluids and compare the results of nanofluids with the existing heat transfer fluids. Much research works are being carried out with nanofluids in the applications of different fields. Moreover the nanofluids are identified as a coolant in the internal combustion engine systems in the engineering field. In this investigation, the Multi-Walled Carbon Nano Tube (MWCNT)/ water nanofluids are taken as coolant of an internal combustion four stroke diesel engine with the objectives: a). To prepare stable nanofluids coolant. b).To characterize of the nanofluids. c). To study the effect of nanofluids on the indicated horse power, brake horse power, mechanical efficiency, thermal efficiency, fuel consumption, and exhaust temperature. d).To compare the performance of nanofluids with the performance of water at different electrical loading and different flow rate of nanofluids. newline newline newline |
