Abstract: Since the collapse of the market for optical communications newlineequipment at the beginning of the millennium there has been a diminished newlineinterest and investment in long distance optical transmission This is the result newlineof the enormous capacities afforded by Wavelength division multiplexed newlinesystems the total traffic demand is lower than the available system traffic newlineBefore 2000 Voice traffic dominated the network but after 2002 the Internet newlinetraffic has crossed the voice traffic This situation is being changed in 2011 newlineDue to the ever expanding Internet data traffic telecommunication networks newlineare witnessing a huge demand for data traffic which is greater than the newlineavailable system capacity that is spectral efficiency and no of wavelengths newlinehave to be increased Ultimately it may lead to the high light intensity newlinedeveloped at the core of the fiber and nonlinearities like SRS and FWM are newlinearising Here the ways of reducing the SRS and FWM effects in a Dense newlineWavelength Division Multiplexing system are analyzed It is observed that newlinethe spectral efficiency is increased up to certain maximum input power and newlineafter that it starts decreasing Even though there were several analyses newlineregarding nonlinear effects the analysis at the spectral domain before and newlineafter the transmission of signal through fiber is done here The effect of newlineunequal spacing on Stimulated Raman Scattering has also been studied The newlinepossibilities of increasing the system capacity or spectral efficiency are newlineexplored Hence by the way of analyzing the bottlenecks the improvement newlinemethods for DWDM system are proposed newline newline
