In the mixture of 1,2 dichloroethane (DE) with amides (Formamide, n-methylformamide and n,n-dimethylformamide) the complex permittivity spectra were determined in the frequency range of 10 MHz to 30 GHz using time domain reflectometry (TDR) method in the temperature range 10°C to 25°C for 11 different concentrations of the system. By using the least square fit method the dielectric parameters viz static dielectric constant (and#949;0), dielectric constant at high frequency (and#949;and#8734;) and relaxation time (and#964;) have been obtained. The dielectric constant (and#949;0) and relaxation time (and#964;) values decrease with increase in temperature as expected. The excess properties and Kirkwood correlation factor gives the information related to liquid 1 (DE) and liquid 2 (amides) interaction. The excess permittivity (and#949;E) and excess inverse relaxation time (1/and#964;)E values are contradictory to each other. Thermodynamic parameters are also determined. newline
