Abstract: | The introduction of flexible alternating current transmission system made it less difficult for the power engineers as the FACTS devices are more demanding in improving the transient stability and power transfer capability of the transmission line with reduced congestion. In recent years, intelligent controllers have become popular in power system related applications such as load forecasting, economic dispatch, protection, fault diagnosis and relay coordination. The aim of this research work is to propose an approach to implement the Fuzzy Logic Control based Thyristor Controlled Series Compensation (TCSC) for reducing congestion and improving voltage stability in the power system. The TCSC with FLC can solve some of the problems encountered in power system operation. There is a great importance for load flow studies in planning, designing and future expansion of power systems. It will also help to determine the best operation of the existing system where as in the other power system problems like contingency analysis, transfer capability computations, finding the optimal location of compensating devices and the implementation of complex neural network use load flow analysis extensively. congestion and ascertains the effective power transfer capability of the electric power system network. In this research work, a Thyristor Controlled Series Compensation (TCSC) device is used to overcome the Vi congestion problem and regulate good voltage stability of the system. newline |
