Abstract: | Cloud computing is the buzzword in which the likes of servers, storage, applications, etc., are provided as service components to organisations and individual users. The on-demand delivery of service from the provider, on a pay-as-you-go model, showcases the flexibility of this service lowering capital expenditure. Its features such as cost saving, sharing of resources, scalability, manageability, and flexibility have made it increasingly popular. Although cloud computing is a great innovation in the world of computing, concerns abound for security, trust and privacy of applications and data hosted in it. In an era still marred by scepticism in cloud newlineadoption, the focus on Trustworthiness of cloud gains importance for trust and resource management. For that reason, it is necessary to estimate the trustworthiness of a provider before opting for the service. This includes checking the credibility of the feedback and trust parameters involved in trust evaluation. With cloud computing, the action moves to the interface, that is, the service transaction happens between Cloud Service Provider (CSP) and Cloud Service Customer (CSC). CSC always expects quality service and trustworthy service transaction from the CSP. Choosing the providers from a large number of CSPs that can be trusted for efficient manoeuvre of the service deployed in the provider s environment is a key requirement for service consumers. In addition, a request processed by an untrustworthy provider can endanger the quality of the service, prompting issatisfaction to the CSC. newline newline |
