dc.description.abstract | In recent times enhancing the efficiency of automobiles has become very important As part of this effort increasing the efficiency of the heat transfer in the radiator of the automobile also has significance The compact radiator is important for reducing specific fuel consumption The nanotechnology is the latest improvement in science and technology It has been widely applied in heat transfer. Also various nanoparticles have been used in automobiles. Improvement in an automotive cooling system is achieved by different researchers through different modifications The approach in the present work is to add nanoparticles to the base fluid in the car radiator A model set up is made just like a car radiator in an automobile to analyze the heat transfer rate using nanofluid The experimental set up consists of radiator water tank heating coil a pump thermocouples rotameter anemometer flow control valve The nanoparticles are mixed with the base fluid. The heat transfer rate is measured for nanofluids and base fluid separately Then the improvement in heat transfer rate using nanofluids is found out newline | |
