dc.description.abstract | The objective of implementing automation in the fabrication newlineindustries is to provide consistency, improve the quality and establish newlinecomplete control in the manufacturing process. The low-cost automation newlineimplemented in the small-scale industries to aid the welding process will newlineproduce good-quality weldments with better serviceability. It mainly newlineeliminates the human errors in manual welding and prevents the invited risks newlineto human beings because of high heat and hazardous environment. The better newlinecontrol over the input process parameters in welding is also highly essential newlineto get the required weld bead characteristics with desired mechanical newlineproperties. Based on the above industrial need, a research work is carried out newlineon weld quality optimization and analyzing the pipe weldments made by newlineautomated MIG welding process.ASTM A106 Grade-B steel pipes are widely used in feeder lines newlineof the boilers, condenser drain pipes, feed water reducers in pressurized water newlinereactors of nuclear power plants, chemical refineries, and other processing newlineindustries because of its ever-lasting performance in high-temperature newlineenvironmental conditions. It is primarily used for transporting chemicals, oils newlineand hot gases at the temperature of around 650and#61616;C. ASTM A106 Grade-B newlinepipe is a plain carbon steel material which consists of pearlite phase in the newlineferrite matrix. The material possesses high specific strength, high fracture newlinetoughness, good corrosion resistance and ductility which is essential for the newlinehigh-temperature applications. newline newline | |
