Abstract: | A sensor network, also termed as Network on Chip, incorporates newlinevarious types of sensors, processors, memory and wireless transceivers. The ondemand newlinedistributed computing feature, provided by Grid Computing utilizes newlineheterogeneous and geographically dispersed resources to attain a common goal. newlineThe need for proper energy utilization has resulted in the emergence newlineof sensor Grids, which utilizes smart appliances, efficient technologies and newlineenergy efficient resources. The use of sensors in grid based applications enables newlinethe detection and monitoring of mobile agents to increase energy efficiency. This newlinework has evolved a Dynamic Sensor Grid Coverage (DSGC) Protocol which newlineinvolves a Sensor Grid deployment scheme with sensor nodes, mobile agents newlineand cluster head. The protocol also includes a Cluster head selection phase based newlineon Improved Residual Energy Management (IREM) scheme. The protocol also newlineincludes mechanisms for Local Grid Cluster formation, Overlapping Grid newlineCluster communication, Aggregation and Relocation.Real time applications can integrate the wireless sensor networks withgrid computing to enable the data collected by the sensors to be processed and newlineanalyzed using the computational resources of the Grid Architecture. This gives newlinerise to the need for Sensor Grid Architectures. This work has involved in the newlinedesign of a middleware architectural framework using the Cross layer newlineScheduling mechanism with resource discovery and energy utilization in the newlineSensor Grid.. newline newline |
