Abstract: | The Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is an autonomous wireless communication system, and does not have any fixed infrastructure. Addressing the Quality of Service (QoS) issues in such a network plays major role, which is mainly dependent on the resource utilization parameters such as bandwidth, End to End delay (E2E), Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) and energy consumption. The dynamic behavior of the MANET, affects these parameters by generating variations in the network Load, number of nodes present in the network, and node density. This research work focuses on developing the schemes for improving the QoS, by contributing on clustering, channel allocation, load balancing and scheduling techniques. The clustering scheme for selecting appropriate Cluster Head (CH) is an important factor to assess the network conditions on the basis of energy consumption, number of nodes connected, and network load. This phenomenon affects the resource utilization of the network, and in turn has much impact on QoS. The primary aim of the channel allocation schemes is to allocate a sufficient number of channels to every node in order to deploy proficient bandwidth utilization and ensure the QoS. Load balancing is intended to determine the access of the number of available slots in the frame and avoid the interference. The scheduling is also another key factor to avoid collision, and hence it avoids delay, and optimizes energy utilization. newline |
