Abstract: | Plasma arc welding is used in major industries like piping, chemical, newlinepetro chemical and biomedical. The austenitic stainless steels are mostly newlinewelded by using plasma arc welding technique due to the capability to absorb newlinemore amounts of heat while welding. Since austenitic stainless has high newlinecorrosion resistance, it is used in piping and bio-medical industries. Previous newlineresearchers has done so many investigations on the austenitic stainless steel newlineplates and very few have done the research on austenitic stainless steel sheets. newlineOur research focused about plasma arc welding on austenite stainless steel newlinewith 2mm thickness sheet. Plasma arc welding is used for metal joining newlineprocess and the bead-on-plate trials were conducted to identify the welding newlineparameters for better welding. The three types of welding parameters like newlinewelding current, welding speed and pilot arc were identified. newlineOptimization technique was implemented on the three welding newlineparameters and the ANOVA, back propagation neural networks and GA newlinetechnique was used. Using the welding parameters, the errors in input and newlineoutput parameters were rectified and best output result was obtained. Based newlineon the best output result, butt joint welding was performed on the austenite newlinestainless steel sheets. newline newline |
