Abstract: One of the universally accepted fact is that of the essentiality of newlinegroundwater, with respect to its quantity and quality. Ever since the industrial newlinerevolution, natural and polluted waters have been studied in great detail all newlineover the world. In India, among it s vision towards the economic growth and newlinedevelopment, various industries gets developed which leads to site specific newlineindustrial growth. The groundwater system throughout India in several places newlinehad been polluted and being polluted by this type of focused and rapid newlinedevelopments. It is observed a distinct change in the hydrochemical properties of newlinegroundwater in the regions where rapid transformations in the industrial newlinesector and urbanization have occurred which leads to immense pressure on newlinethe water managers to monitor and evaluate the groundwater parameters newlinecontinuously. As the groundwater parameters include all the cations, anions, newlinenutrients and heavy metals, the determination of the parameters has become a newlinelaborious work even though technological advancements ease the difficulty in newlinethe analysis. In this scenario, models extend their unhampered support in the newlineprediction and simulation of the groundwater data. One of the region where newlinefocused development has occurred which leads to the differential newlinetransformations in the groundwater chemical budget is South Chennai, Tamil newlineNadu, India. For the present study, South Chennai is so chosen keeping in newlineview of its importance with regard to various hydro-environmental issues. newlineThe present study area covers the southern part of Chennai and part of its newlinesuburbs, which is located on the east coast of Che newline newline
