Abstract: Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) is second cause of mortality across newlinethe globe in both the developing and developed countries. CVD includes newlinemany conditions like the Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), Ischemic Heart newlineDisease (IHD), and aortic diseases. Many treatments have been introduced in newlinethe field of medicine to overcome this deadly disease, like angioplasty, and newlinethe field of interventional cardiology extended its support by the introduction newlineof stent. Stent is a small tube like structure that is deployed in the coronary newlineartery after the plaque removal (block), to allow the free flow of blood newlinethrough the artery.Initially, the stents were made up of metal source like stainless newlinesteel, Cobalt and termed as Bare Metal Stents (BMS). The disadvantageous of newlineusing these stents include reoccurrence of the plaque and neointimal newlinehyperplasia. In order to overcome these draw backs, Drug Eluting Stents newline(DES) were introduced which deliver the drug at the site of plaque formation newlineand reduce the multiplication of smooth muscle cell thereby reducing newlineneointimal hyperplasia. Restenosis and thrombosis seems to be problem of newlinestenting irrespective of the material used. Therefore, in the present newlineinvestigation two different materials, Polypropylene (polymer) and Bamboo newlineyarn (natural fibre) are examined and evaluated for designing the stent newline newline
