Abstract: | The Road Over Bridge ROB is a grade separated bridge structure constructed over railway level crossing LC The ROB at a bridge location is normally warranted when the train vehicle unit TVU exceeds 100000 The newlineROB construction assumes importance at a location where the vehicle newlinepopulation is large ie on National Highways State Highways and where the newlinefrequency of trains crossing the level crossing LC is more But the ROB newlineconstruction projects in India are prone to time delay and cost overrun due to newlinevarious reasons This study investigates time delay and cost overrun of ROB newlineconstruction projects in India by means of quantitative and qualitative newlineanalysis The qualitative analysis involves the identification of factors causing newlinetime delay and cost overrun of ROB construction projects in India through newlineliterature survey and by seeking the opinion of experts in the field of newlineconstruction of ROB A questionnaire was designed by considering the newlineidentified factors causing time delay and cost overrun of ROB construction newlineprojects in India and the questionnaire surveys were conducted from owners newlinecontractors and consultants of the ROB construction projects The responses newlinewere analysed for the calculation of Frequency Index FI for each of the newlineidentified response factor FI were then ranked based on their value From the newlineranking the top most factors were identified as factors causing time delay and newlinecost overrun of ROB construction projects newline newline |
