Abstract: Industrial textiles include healthcare and hygiene products most of which are used by human beings for personal care Bed sheets blankets towels patient uniforms gowns and draper for surgical procedures are few healthcare newlineproducts used in general These products are prone to contamination by micro newlineorganisms from blood skin urine stool and other body fluids Hospital linens newlineare infected mainly by gram negative bacteria staphylococci Bacillus spp and newlinetypical skin flora The routine laundry procedures just clean the products but newlinewill not make them sterile This may lead to person to person infections when newlineworn by the next person Therefore healthcare textiles have to be given a newlinemicrobiological disinfection Current scenario in the development of healthcare items involve in imparting antimicrobial functionality to use them effectively for the purpose newlineTriclosan metallic salts organometallics phenol quaternary ammonium newlinecompounds and organosilicones are the commonly used antimicrobial agents newlineInnovation in nanotechnology opens new possibilities of imparting newlineantimicrobial property in textiles Nano particles have a large surface area to newlinevolume ratio that results in a significant increase in the effectiveness of photo newlinecatalytic oxidation activity In this research work a narro w width loom with needle weaving system has been designed using which a twill narrow fabric has been produced Subsequently this fabric has been treated with plant essential oil incorporated newlinechitosan nano particles and nano encapsulated EOchitosan of nano particles newlineFollowing are the objectives of this research work newline newline
