Abstract: | The conspicuous growth of the world economy in the 21st century is leading to newlinesevere competition within and across national borders. The progressive environment newlineindicates there would be enormous changes in all the economic sectors in the coming newlinedecade. It is evident that such developments hamper the physical and psychological newlinewell-being of stakeholders involved. The higher education institutions are also facing newlinea similar challenge and are under intense pressure to perform well in this fastchanging newlineand dynamic environment. Not only the students but also the faculty newlinemembers experience a high level of job pressure and stress making their roles more newlinechallenging than before. With the emergence of the Positive Psychology movement, newlinethe issue relating to the well-being of students in an educational institution has newlinerecently gained the attention of academicians and researchers in western countries. newlineBut there is a paucity of literature on faculty well-being, especially in the Indian newlinecontext. Thus, educational institutions need to adopt proactive steps to maintain and newlineenhance the well-being of faculty members. This research accentuates on the need to newlineincorporate positive organisational practices in the Indian higher education sector, newlineespecially engineering and technology institutes, and proposes a conceptual newlineframework for the identification and development of such practices. newlineAim of the study: newlineThe study aimed to identify the positive practices in Indian Engineering and newlineTechnology Institutes that lead to the well-being of faculty members.
