Abstract: | Data is the simplified representation of all the information and is the base for all the worldly activities The growth of data is unimaginable and is increasing every day Most of the data is stored in the form of audio video text and images It is a saying that an image worth thousand words as the images can reach the brain faster than the text. For this sake images are exploited in all the domains such as photography medical science electronic imaging satellite imaging and so on As the utilization of images are improving day by day it is necessary to ensure effective storage and management of images Besides this it is equally important to expedite the process of image search and retrieval As the images are utilized in almost all domains it is necessary to make the image retrieval process hassle free For this sake Content Based Image Retrieval CBIR system comes into picture The main goal of a CBIR system is to fetch the images that are relevant to the query image from a voluminous image database. In order to achieve effective image search and retrieval process the system is trained with the features which are extracted from the images The feature set paves way for differentiating between numerous images A CBIR system aims to fetch the relevant images with respect to the query image Whenever a query image is passed to the CBIR system the CBIR system searches the voluminous image database and presents a list of ranked images with respect to the query image to the user The crucial challenges involved in CBIR system are accuracy and time consumption newline |
