dc.description.abstract | In the era of globalization entrepreneurship plays an imperative role in achieving faster economic growth and development of the nation Entrepreneurs are regarded as a catalyst of nation s economic growth contributing to industrial development employment generation enhancement of per capita income revenues to the Government in the form of taxes and duties and so on Despite the importance of entrepreneurship in economic growth and development the role of students in promoting entrepreneurship remains largely unstudied Thus a better understanding of the underlying antecedents that are closely oriented with the students entrepreneurial proclivity could have theoretical and practical implications on policy makers like state and central governments apex bodies universities and educational institutions It was apparent from the previous studies that entrepreneurship has occupied a significant place in the economic development of the nation A study on entrepreneurial propensity has become extensively a topic of town today by many researchers in economics management sociology psychology as well as in anthropology due to its importance to the development of an economy by way of job creation and wealth creation Today Indian economy is emerging as a leading economy in the world as the Honourable Prime Minister of India Mr.Narendra Modi has recently launched Make in India Campaign on 25th September 2014 Skill India on 15th July 2015 and Startup India on 15th August 2015 under the aegis of Ministry of Commerce Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to encourage companies and entrepreneurs to innovate and produce products in India The aim of the Make in India program Skill India initiative Start-up India campaign is to transform India into entrepreneurship ecosystem The success of a nation always depends on the success of its youth The Make in India Skill India and Start-up India and Standup India initiatives are certain to bring a lot of advantages and opportunities for these young Indians | |
