Abstract: | ABSTRACT Banks play an important role in the economic development of every nation. They have control over a large part of the supply of money in circulation. A bank is a financial intermediary that accepts deposits and channels those deposits into lending activities. Banks are a fundamental component of the financial system, and are also active players in financial markets. Financial performance refers to the achievement of the bank in terms of profitability. This thesis entitled Performance Analysis of Nationalized Banks and New Generation Banks A Comparative Study deals with performance of select kinds of banks active in India. Five banks from Nationalized Banks and Five Banks from New Generation Banks have been selected for this particular study. Performance of the banks are analyze in three aspects respectively Financial Performance, Customer Attitude and Employee Satisfaction, the period of study lasts long for the duration on ten years from the financial year 2003 to 2012. For the study both primary and secondary data have been collected. Primary data have been collected with simple random sampling method. The researcher has selected five banks from both Nationalized Banks and New Generation Banks from five districts of southern Tamilnadu. The research has used 700 Banking customers and 300 Banking Employees as sample of the study. Researcher has made use of the statistical tools namely The Index Growth Rate Analysis, Comparative Correlation Analysis, T-Test Analysis, Trend Analysis, Martin Fisbeins Model, Simple Correlation Analysis, Simple Regression Analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis. Findings have been presented comparing the performance of both Nationalized Banks and New Generation Banks on the bases of Financial Performance, Customer Attitude and Employee Satisfaction. newline |
