Abstract: | At present, internet usage has been increased in many domains including medical field. Many newlinedevices are connecting to the internet and transmitting lot of multimedia data on to the net. newlineThe transmission of medical data has improved with the emergence of telemedicine. Telemedicine is an important area, which enables consultations by remote specialists in a newlinecost-effective manner and also improves the communication between the medical partners in newlineaccessing patients information at the faster rate. Though the advances in medical technology newlineand tele-medicine enhances flexibility and also creating many challenges regarding the newlineconfidentiality of patients information while transmission and storage. Whenever medical newlinedata related to radiological scans is transferred from data-base center to other centers newlinewithout applying any security mechanisms, leads to the low level of privacy. Hence data newlineauthentication and preserving the security for the patient s information is the main concern. newlineThe main concentration of this research is to enhance the data authentication and newlinesecurity of patient information by using watermarking technique. Watermarking is the process newlineof embedding watermark into the cover image by using embedding algorithm. newlineAfter transmission watermark will be extracted by using extraction algorithm. Then extracted watermark can be compared with the original to check the authentication of data. During transmission watermark will be distorted due to many attacks. newlineWatermarking can be performed either in the spatial domain or in the transformation domain. newlineSpatial domain techniques are simple, less complex and less secure where as newlinetransform domain techniques are more complex, robust and more secure.Watermarking techniques can be compared by using parameters robustness and imperceptibility newline |
