dc.description.abstract | The increase in the customer expectations on the quality of metal removal related products has made the metal removing industries to continuously enhance the quality of metal removing processes Turning process is one of the most basic metal removal operations followed in the manufacturing industries Surface roughness of turned components has high significance on the quality of turned products This research work aims to study the effect of nano additives and surfactants added with coolants and also the influence of different tool materials on the surface finish of turned Al 6061 components In dry machining process the cutting edge wear occurs rapidly In newlinewet machining the coolant protects the cutting edge cooling and lubrication properties Coolants are used to have control over the heat generated and ensure the good surface finish of the work piece Since coolants lubricants have negative impact on cost environment and human health Minimum Quantity Lubrication MQL is used as an alternative method to flooded lubrication conventional wet machining The purpose of MQL is to reap the benefits of lubricants without getting affected with the harmful effects of the lubricants Due to the above stated advantages on using MQL this research work follows MQL approach newline newline | |
