dc.description.abstractOver the last couple of years many hospitals face an increasing demand for healthcare professionals due to the increased level of the population size increased awareness of health among the people and their raised income levels The acute shortage of healthcare providers has intensified the demand for the quality healthcare This has challenged the healthcare industry predominantly to sustain their healthcare workers as well to provide and maintain quality service for the healthcare seekers. There is a pressing need for healthcare professionals to go beyond the call of duty or newlineexisting role expectations or display certain behaviours that are discretionary and are advantageous in the effective functioning of the hospitals and to provide highest quality care to the patients Therefore the term Organizational Citizenship Behaviour OCB merits the research attention This research study focuses on Organizational Citizenship Behavior and the selected potential antecedents and its positive outcomes among healthcare professionals Although there are many studies that have tried to find the determinants of OCB this study focuses on the organizational context variable individual factor and positive psychological resources as the determinants of OCB The psychological contract fulfillment is chosen to represent the contextual variable the big five personality traits to represent the individual factor while resiliency and positive emotions is chosen to represent positive psychological variables The positive psychological outcomes of these antecedents are psychological well being and life satisfaction which is also addressed in this research work newline newline
