Present work was carried out in order to know the allelopathic impact of aqueous plant extract of Cassia tora L. on growth, survival and reproduction of Vicia faba L.. On the basis of present investigation it was concluded that the genotoxicity test ( Allium cepa test ) of the extract had maximum mitotic index at 60% concentration treatment. Similarly the extract had stimulating effect on the yield components and mitotic index of broad bean at the lower and moderate higher doses, but the extreme higher doses of the same extract had deleterious effect. There was gradual delay in the time of flowering from lower to higher used doses. Meiosis did not occur synchronously in the control as well as treated plants. Most balanced meiosis occurred in the plants under 60% concentration treatment, even better than the control. A positive correlation existed between the genotoxicity potential of Cassia tora L. extract and its allelopathic impact on the considered yield components of broad bean, except days to flower which was negatively correlated. Cassia tora L. can be used in the biological control of carrot weed by allowing the plants of both the species to grow in close association under field conditions. newline
