Abstract: In the framework of information technology (IT), one of the popular research area in our current newlineenvironment is cloud computing for hosting and running various software services and newlineapplications on the internet. It aims to facilitate the relocation of data and applications on newlineinfrastructure accessible from internet via virtualization. Cloud services are based on the newlinearchitectures on virtualization by using the multi-tenancy for a better resource management and newlinestrong isolation between several virtual machines (VMs). Therefore it has also introduced a wide newlinerange of security risks from almost every layer and component of cloud systems. However, side newlinechannel attack takes advantage of multi-tenancy to steal file without alerting the tenant to newlinebecome a primary security threat for cloud data center and cryptosystem. newlineSide channel attack is simple to implement and can be called as a most successful attack in data newlinebreaches because it takes advantage by targeting the weakness of cryptosystems and also newlineavoiding to leave a fingerprint of the attack perform. The first part of this thesis discusses about newlinedifferent aspects of cloud computing related on side channel attack issues. newlineSeveral solutions and generic Side-channel attacks are addressed. One of the techniques used to newlineprevent side channel attack is by using cryptography and also depends on the architecture of the newlinealgorithm used. The second part of this thesis describes different algorithms used to mitigate side newlinechannel attack. This research focuses on security issues due to side channel attacks and proposed newlinea novel algorithm called Secure Double Encryption Standard (SDES-384bit) to prevent the newlineissues. Finally to eliminate the side channels, a methodological framework is established, which newlineaims at best organizing the task of the evaluator. The algorithm was able to prevent the number newlineof attacks as wells reduced the response time. The results obtained from the implementation are newlinesatisfactory newline
