Abstract: A material in the nano-size regime has unique properties due to size. They are called nanomaterials and their study has revolutionized the field of materials science. They form the very important class of materials which require deep study and research. Very important category in that are nano structured semiconductors. Rare earth (RE) activated nano-sized oxide phosphors were of interest because of their drastic improvement in luminescence output and radiation stability, which ultimately result in the introduction of display phosphor. For effective coating and optimum brightness, phosphors should have narrow particle size distribution and homogeneously doped activator. newline
