Abstract: | quotMotivation is the art of creating and arousing the willingness among the individuals to work for achieving the group goals. It is the task of infusing enthusiasm and interest for the accomplishment of the determined goals. newlineThis study tries to examine and help to understand the importance and effects of motivation by identifying key factors that determine the rate of motivation in the members of the team. To ensure the independent work functioning of the individuals in the organization for the greater interest of the organization in achieving its goals, nothing but motivation has to play a vital role. It has to create an environment where each one is motivated to work and achieve what he/she is expected to achieve. What we know is that motivation is the result of the interaction between the individual and the situation. Certainly, individuals differ in motivational drive, but overall motivation varies from situation to situation. Motivating high levels of employee performance is such an important organizational consideration that both academic researchers and practicing managers have been trying to understand and explain employee motivation for years. newlineThis research is basically carried out to study the impact of financial and non financial incentives on managerial motivation and involvement. The research is carried out in the state of Gujarat. Random samples of managers were taken on convenient basis from Ahmedabad, Baroda, Mehsana and Surat. The research was conducted to study the managerial motivation in different sectors like Pharmaceuticals, Insurance, Financial, Banking, Securities and Consultancy. newlineStructured questionnaire was prepared and the managers were asked to fill it up either through e-mails or personally. All those holding positions at the top or the middle level of the management and in-charge of certain duties and group of people are included in the study as the managers. newlineThere is positive relationship between the non financial incentives and motivation and involvement of managers. |
