Abstract

With the advances in inexpensive sensor technology and wireless newlinecommunications the design of large scale wireless sensor networks WSN newlinehas become cost effective and attracts the attention of a wide range of newlineapplications such as health and environmental monitoring and battlefields newlinesurveillance The main challenge in the design of wireless sensor networks is newlinethe limited battery power of the sensors and the difficulty of replacing andor newlinerecharging these batteries due to the nature of the monitoring field and cost newlineTo ease this problem it is necessary that the sensors be densely deployed and newlineappropriate protocols be designed in order to identify this redundancy while newlinemaximizing the lifetime of the network Several protocols have been proposed newlinein the literature with a goal to save the sensors energy All those proposed newlinealgorithms aim to design energy efficient protocol for WSN However these newlineprotocols consider the various issues of WSN separately newline newline
