The objective of an Adaptive Control system is to design a newlinecontroller that can adjust its behavior to tolerate uncertain or timevarying newlineparameters The adaptive controller which consists of a Linear TimeInvariant newlineLTI compensator together with a tuning mechanism adjusts the compensator newlineparameters and hence behaves as a nonlinear controller The transient closedloop newlinebehavior is often poor and the control signal may become unduly large newlinedue to its nonlinearity Although the objective of adaptive control system is to newlinedeal with time varying plant parameters most of classical adaptive controllers newlinefail to handle rapidly changing parameters newlineThe implementation of Model Reference Adaptive Control newlineMRAC scheme in various practical applications has attracted much attention newlinein the field of control engineering This is mainly due to its promising newlinecapability of tackling the presence of unknown parameters or unknown newlinevariations in plant parameters better than the one based on constant gain newlinefeedback control scheme newline newline
