Water is an essential and basic human need for urban industrial and agricultural use and has to be considered as a limited resource Inadequate water supply and water quality deterioration represent serious contemporary concerns for municipalities industries agriculture and the environment in many parts of the world Our present environmental problems are originated from unplanned utilization of natural resources due to rapid industrialization Increase in variation of products expectations of higher profit margins by industrialists incorrect applications and deficiencies of regulations are the major reasons of the industrial wastewater pollution Discharging wastewater without treatment into surface water resources can affect the water quality and aquatic life negatively In general the pulp and paper industry egg processing industry and rice mills are water intensive industries and they consume more amount of water compared to metals and other chemical industries The pulp and paper industry egg processing industry and rice mill effluents are different in nature and their characteristics depend upon the process adopted for manufacturing In this present work the treatment of bleaching effluent from pulp and paper industry egg processing and rice mill effluent are investigated and also the optimum condition for maximum the percentage of colour turbidity chemical oxygen demand and biochemical oxygen demand removal was determined by using response surface methodology The experiments were carried out in electrocoagulation reactor consisting of anodic and cathodic material comprising aluminum plates having a surface area of 30 cm2en_US
