Abstract: | In an integrated power system the voltage level of the system has newlineto be maintained within the prescribed limits for satisfactory operation The newlinevoltage is indicative of reactive power flow and hence the voltage level of the newlinesystem is to be maintained by means of reactive power generation in the newlinesystem During the last two decades there has been a growing concern in the newlineelectric utility industry about reactive power issues at the operational planning newlineand capacity expansion levels Among other reasons this interest is derived newlinefrom the fact that in many power systems there is a trend towards operating newlinethem closer to their operational limits Therefore issues such as voltage newlinecontrol voltage instability reactive power planning RPP and reactive power newlinedispatch RPD have attracted much attention newlineThis thesis focuses on solving RPP and RPD problems In recent newlineyears multiobjective models have been developed for solving these newlineproblems A number of classical methods have been developed to solve multiobjective newlineRPP MORPP and multiobjective RPD MORPD problems newline newline |
